this is the 2nd week

Shell Eco Marathon, the competition of students to make a vehicle. And it’s divide in 2 category, first is prototype and the others is urban.

For this year, my college (Politeknik Manufaktur Negeri Bandung) join this competition in urban category. And my major is trusted to making this body from fiber resin. But before we make it from fiber resin, the first thing we must do is make a skeleton of its body. We got the pieces of its skeleton from its design that drawn on Solid Works and we take the sections. Our designer take 8 section for part Z and 9 section for part X.

After all of section that we need has printed, we stick it to the multiplex with various thicknesses according to requirement. Then we saw it by using jigsaw and make sure the blade is sharp enough so that we’ll get the best result.

When all of section has sawed, we ready for assembling it agree with the distance on design. Make sure that we must assembly it begin from the middle section of part X as the center to the left and right.

Then we assembly all of part Z section and part X section.

We must fill the cavity with polystirol. Measure first the cavity and cut polystirol agree with the measurement. The polystirol also must cover the multiplex until the body is full with polystirol. Then we sand it untill soft and smooth (like a shampoo advertisement haha-intermezzo).

And that’s all we’ve done for this week. Overall i proud with my team who can work and give their best (so do i haha).
